How to increase testosterone in diabetes?

I have type 2 diabetes, and recently my doctor brought up that low testosterone can be common with it. Is there anything I can do to increase testosterone while managing my diabetes?

Managing diabetes and testosterone together is a bit tricky, ho na. If your blood sugar is high, it automatically lowers your hormone levels. First focus on keeping your sugar levels in control with your doctor's advice.

When my sugar was uncontrolled, my testosterone dropped significantly. I only focused on managing my HbA1c through a strict low-carb diet and regular walking, and my hormone levels naturally improved on my next blood test.

I have been diabetic for ten years and faced low testosterone too. The key is to start strength training or resistance exercises three times a week, as it improves insulin sensitivity and boosts testosterone simultaneously. Keep monitoring your blood glucose closely.

At 52, dealing with both diabetes and low energy feels like a double-decker bus hitting you! But honestly, cutting down on sugar and taking a 30-minute brisk walk daily has helped me keep both in check without losing my mind.

Please remember that some diabetes medications can interact with testosterone treatments. Do not take any over-the-counter hormone pills without asking your physician. Focus on zinc-rich foods like nuts and keep your HbA1c targets in check.

Trying to balance sugars and testosterone feels like a circus act sometimes! Don't stress too much though, just focus on sleeping well and lifting some light weights. A happy mind is the best hormone booster.
