I have tried so many home tricks for my garden soil. Adding used coffee grounds directly to the soil or watering with highly diluted vinegar works beautifully. Just don't overdo the vinegar or it might burn the delicate roots.
No need to buy expensive stuff for your home garden. Just use your kitchen waste like tea leaves or lemon peels mixed in the soil. It is free of cost and works nicely over a few weeks.
I usually try safe, gradual methods for my balcony plants so I don't ruin them. Adding organic compost or pine needles slowly changes the soil pH without shocking the plants. Just be patient as it takes some time.
Mixing composted tea leaves or coffee grounds into the soil is the easiest way to do this.
I tried some strong chemical sulfur on my garden once without testing and it completely destroyed my flowering plants. I highly suggest getting a basic soil testing kit or asking a nursery expert first before adding strong elements.
