How to ignore pain?

Been dealing with this knee pain for weeks now, especially when I climb stairs. My dadi always says to just ignore it, but it's getting harder to do. Is there any way to actually ignore discomfort without it getting worse?

Beta, ignoring pain is not wise as it is our body's way of telling us something is wrong. For small aches, you can try warm compresses or warm milk with turmeric, but please do not ignore persistent pain.

I usually just try to distract myself by listening to music or sleeping when I have a headache. But is it safe to ignore constant body pain? Should we always go to a clinic even for mild aches?

When my daughter complains of pain, I never tell her to just ignore it because we need to find out why it's hurting. Please be gentle with yourself and get a medical checkup to find the real issue.

I always worry that if I ignore a small pain, it will turn into something huge, so I can never ignore it! Please don't try to hide your pain; it's much better to consult a doctor and be sure everything is okay.

While mental distraction techniques and deep breathing can help cope with pain temporarily, ignoring it entirely is counterproductive. Seeking a proper medical doctor's advice is always the best approach to treat the underlying cause.

At my age, if I didn't ignore half my joint pains, I would be living in a hospital lobby! But seriously, if it's a new or sharp pain, don't try to be a hero; get a doctor to check it out.

Was reading about pain management and apparently our brain can only focus on one major signal at a time, so distraction works to some extent. Still, ignoring chronic pain seems pretty risky without knowing the cause.

I tried to ignore a persistent stomach ache last year and ended up in emergency surgery because my appendix ruptured. Please do not try to suppress or ignore pain; get it checked by a proper doctor before it gets complicated.

Ignoring pain can be really risky because you are just masking the symptoms. I go to a proper hospital and ask my doctor clearly about the cause of the pain instead of trying to tolerate it.
