How to identify piles?

I've been experiencing some discomfort and itching in my anal area lately, and sometimes I see a little blood when I wipe. I'm embarrassed to talk about it, but I'm worried it might be piles. What are the symptoms to identify piles, and when should I be really concerned?

Usually, if you feel pain or itching while sitting down or notice bright red blood after passing stool, it might be piles. Don't worry too much, just drink lots of water and eat high-fiber foods, and do see a doctor if it doesn't get better.

Piles or hemorrhoids usually cause a painless bleeding during bowel movements, or you might feel a lump near the anal area. It is very common and nothing to be embarrassed about. Please consult a general surgeon for a simple physical checkup.

My teenager was facing this due to poor diet and constipation. He had pain during bowel movements and small blood spots. We increased his water intake, started giving him Isabgol, and got a doctor's ointment which helped a lot.

I faced this during a phase of heavy junk food and constipation. It felt like a sharp prickling pain and some itching in that area. Increasing fiber in my diet really helped, but please consult a doctor to rule out fissures.

Initially, you can try sitz baths with warm water and eating plenty of green veggies to ease the stool. But if you feel severe pain, swelling, or notice regular bleeding, please don't rely only on home remedies and visit a doctor.

Beta, if you have constipation and feel pain or a swelling while sitting, it can be piles. Drink warm milk with a little ghee at night and avoid spicy food. But if there is a lot of bleeding, please go to a doctor immediately.
