How to identify melanoma cancer?

I noticed a new mole on my arm, and it looks a bit different from my other ones. My grandmother had skin cancer once, so it makes me nervous. What are the specific things to look for to identify melanoma cancer on the skin?

Look, check your moles. If any mole is changing its shape, has uneven borders, or is growing in size, don't sit on it. Go to a good dermatologist and get a biopsy done instead of guessing.

We must observe our skin with quiet attention. Look for the ABCDE rule: asymmetry, irregular borders, color changes, large diameter, and evolving size of moles. Please let a dermatologist examine any such changes carefully.

Honestly, check your skin while having your morning tea. If you spot a mole that looks like a weirdly shaped, multi-colored chocolate chip that is growing, it's time to skip the internet search and visit a skin specialist.

Melanoma is identified using the ABCDE criteria for moles. If a mole is asymmetrical, has jagged borders, uneven color, is larger than 6mm, or is changing over time, book a dermatologist appointment immediately for a dermoscopy.
