How to help throat pain?

Since yesterday, my throat has been feeling very scratchy and it's paining a lot when I swallow. My mom said to gargle with warm water, but it's not helping much. Any other tips for throat pain?

Honestly, throat pain can make you feel so low and exhausted because even swallowing saliva becomes a mountain to climb. I used to feel so frustrated and cranky when I had it last month. Just take it easy on yourself, keep sipping warm water, and rest as much as you can today.

I totally feel your pain, throat irritation is the absolute worst. Just stick to warm liquids and dont force yourself to talk too much.

Ah, the classic 'swallowing glass shards' feeling! Time to play dumb charades with the family because talking is out of the question. Do some warm salt water gargles and pretend you are an opera singer, it really helps soothe the throat.

I get these throat issues often, and since I have hypertension, I avoid taking random over-the-counter decongestants because they can shoot up my blood pressure. Warm saline gargles are my safest bet. If it doesn't clear up in two days, please get it checked by a doc instead of self-medicating.

My 8-year-old just got over a terrible throat infection last week, so I know how difficult it is. I gave her warm turmeric milk with a little honey and made sure she did warm gargles twice a day. Keep the chest warm and give them soft foods like khichdi which are easy to swallow.

Instead of running to a clinic and paying heavy consultation fees right away, try simple home steam and salt water gargles first. If it is just a basic seasonal cold, these free remedies work wonders in 2 days. Save the doctor visit and expensive lab tests for later only if the pain doesn't subside.
