How to help soothe a migraine?

I've woken up with a really throbbing migraine, and the light and sound are just making it worse. I've taken my usual painkiller, but is there anything else I can do to soothe this intense headache?

Haan, migraine pain is really the worst na. Just turn off all the lights, put a cold pack on your neck, and try to sleep. Avoid looking at your mobile or TV screen because that light will make it ten times worse.

It is so frustrating when people think it is just a simple headache and tell you to work through it. The throbbing pain and nausea are completely draining, so please give yourself permission to just cancel your plans and rest.

Drinking a warm cup of herbal ginger tea and applying peppermint oil on the temples helps soothe the throbbing. But if the pain is sudden, extremely intense, or accompanied by numbness, skip home remedies and consult a doctor immediately.

Try a nice, warm foot bath while keeping a cold towel on your head! 💆‍♀️ It helps draw the blood flow away from your head and works like magic for relaxation. Stay hydrated! 💧

Please get your blood pressure checked regularly too, because sometimes high BP mimics or triggers severe headaches. A balanced diet, sleeping on time, and regular health checkups helped me manage both my BP and my headaches.

Instead of buying expensive branded cooling patches every time, just use a reusable gel ice pack from the pharmacy. Also, keeping a simple diary to track food triggers is totally free and saves you money on emergency medicines later.

In my younger days, I used to get terrible attacks due to stress and irregular eating. Over time, I realized that eating simple meals at the exact same time every day works best. Don't worry, once you set your routine, the intensity of these attacks will surely go down.
