How to help someone with asthma?

My friend has mild asthma and sometimes struggles with breathing, especially when exercising. What are some things I can do to help him manage his condition better and prevent attacks?

See, the most important thing is to make sure their house is dust-free. Clean the fans and AC filters regularly because those are silent enemies. And never let them step out without their inhaler in the pocket, simple as that.

It is honestly so scary when you can't breathe and people keep telling you to 'just calm down'. The best way to help is to just sit beside them quietly and show them you are there. Don't make them feel weak or guilty for their condition.

Our family doctor explained that asthma is chronic inflammation, so taking the preventer inhaler daily is crucial, not just the reliever when they cough. We also bought a peak flow meter to track my son's lung capacity at home, which helps us catch flare-ups early.

Please don't think it is just a normal seasonal cold. I ignored my wheezing for months thinking it would go away, and ended up in the ICU with a severe attack. Take them to a pulmonologist for a proper spirometry test before things get worse.

Haan na, changes in weather make it so difficult for them. I always keep warm water ready for my husband when he gets a cough. Avoid giving them very cold drinks directly from the fridge, thoda normal temperature water is much better.
