Honestly, severe neck pain is so frustrating and emotionally draining, I used to feel absolutely miserable and irritated all day. Please dont ignore it or stretch it forcefully when it hurts this much. Just resting your neck and knowing it takes time to heal really helps reduce the mental stress of dealing with it.

Beta, you can try giving some mild warm fermentation with a heating pad, it relaxes the stiff muscles. But remember to keep your posture straight and avoid using very thick pillows. If the pain is shooting down your arms, don't rely on home remedies and see a doc immediately.

My grandmother always suggests applying warm sesame oil, which does give some temporary comfort. But for severe pain, my doctor told me it is always better to get a proper checkup first to find the root cause. Please consult an orthopedist before trying any heavy physical therapy.

I have tried everything from Ayurvedic balms to hot water bags and specialized orthopedic pillows for my neck stiffness. Some gels give a little relief, but practically, resting the neck and avoiding continuous phone usage works best. If it is severe, getting professional physiotherapy is much better than experimenting at home.

My teenage daughter got terrible neck pain due to bad posture during her online classes and board exams. We tried warm compresses and forced her to take breaks every forty minutes to rest her neck. We finally had to visit a specialist who gave her mild exercises, which actually solved the issue safely.
