How to help root canal pain?

I just had a root canal done yesterday, and there's still quite a bit of pain and sensitivity in that tooth. My dentist said it's normal, but I'm finding it hard to eat. What can I do to help with root canal pain while it heals?

Boss, tooth pain is worst. Don't sit at home popping random pain killers. Just go to your dentist, get the cleaning done, and they will prescribe the right safe medicines.

I know dental pain is incredibly stressful. Gargling with warm salt water can temporarily soothe the gums before your appointment, but please let your dentist handle the actual issue.

Hey, don't worry! The actual root canal procedure doesn't hurt as much as the swelling beforehand. Put an ice pack on your cheek from outside to numb the area until you see the doctor.

I got so terrified of dental infections spreading that I couldn't sleep. If you have severe throbbing pain, please call your dentist urgently; they can give you instant relief.

I am also reading up on this because my tooth is starting to ache. Everyone says avoiding hot foods and sticking to cold curd rice or ice cream helps post-treatment.
