How to help plantar fasciitis pain?

My foot pain has been diagnosed as plantar fasciitis, and it's making it difficult to even stand for long. The doctor suggested some exercises, but I wanted to know if there are other tips or home remedies that can provide relief.

Agreed, the morning pain is terrible. Rolling a tennis ball under the arch of your foot really helps massage the tight tissue.

I was researching this because my father started limping in the morning. Apparently, stretching the calf muscles and Achilles tendon before getting out of bed is highly recommended by doctors to prevent the tissue from tearing.

Stop walking barefoot on marble or tiled floors at home right away. Buy comfortable ortho-slippers with good arch support for home wear. If the pain doesn't reduce in two weeks, see an orthopedic doctor.

If you have a busy job, don't waste time on home remedies that take months. Go to a physiotherapist and get a few sessions of ultrasound therapy. Also, buy a pair of good medical insoles for your formal shoes immediately.

Take a break from high-impact activities like running or jumping which aggravate the fascia. Focus on low-impact cardio like cycling or swimming, and do regular calf stretching to keep the muscles flexible and release the tension.

My heel has started hurting a lot when I stand up after sitting for a while. Is it safe to apply ice packs daily to the bottom of the foot? I hope it is nothing serious.
