How to help ovarian cyst pain?

I was recently diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, and sometimes the pain can be quite sharp and uncomfortable. What are some ways I can manage this pain at home without immediately resorting to strong painkillers?

For temporary relief, a hot water bag on the lower abdomen works wonders to relax the muscles. Take proper rest and try avoiding heavy house work when it hurts. If the pain is too sharp, please don't ignore it and get an ultrasound done.

Slow, deep breathing in Butterfly pose really helped me manage the pelvic stiffness. Doing gentle pranayama daily keeps the mind calm when dealing with this chronic discomfort. Just make sure you do not do any fast or heavy yoga twists during pain.

Drinking warm chamomile tea or ginger water helps soothe the internal inflammation slightly. But honestly, if you have sudden, severe shooting pain or vomiting, go to the emergency room immediately. Cysts can sometimes twist and that needs quick doctor attention.

I deal with these cyst pains often because of my PCOS, and it is really tough. I usually stick to light fluids and rest, but I never take pain meds without asking my gynaecologist. Every body is different, so please get your doctor's opinion first.

A warm bath and some light stretching can help ease pelvic floor tension. From what I have seen, keeping a track of your pain cycle helps the doctor understand if the cyst is growing. Definitely avoid self-medicating with strong painkillers without a prescription.

I know how exhausting this pain is, and it really drains you mentally too. I used to cry from the sudden cramps, feeling so helpless. Please take it easy on yourself, lie down, and let your family help you with chores today.
