How to help neck and shoulder pain?

My neck and shoulders feel so tense and painful almost every day. I think it might be due to stress or sitting too much. Are there some simple stretches or techniques I can try at home to get some relief?

For neck and shoulder pain, first check your pillow height; it should keep your neck aligned with your spine. You can apply an over-the-counter pain relief gel and use warm fermentation. If you experience any dizziness or numbness in your arms, please visit a doctor immediately.

I ignored my shoulder and neck pain for months, thinking it was just from bad sleep, till it became a frozen shoulder and cervical spondylitis. I had to go through painful traction sessions. Save yourself the trouble and consult an orthopaedic doctor soon.

I think my neck is permanently locked at a 45-degree angle from staring at my phone and laptop all night. Honestly, a hot shower and sleeping flat on a hard bed is the only thing keeping me going. Get off your phone and rest, it really helps!

Living with constant neck and shoulder pain is so mentally draining, and it really ruins your mood every day. It is completely normal to feel frustrated and exhausted by it. Try to take some time out for yourself, relax, and book a doctor's appointment to find the root cause.

Welcome to middle age, where sleeping in the wrong direction feels like you got hit by a bus! I have started doing simple neck rotations while waiting for my tea to boil. It's a funny sight but definitely keeps the stiffness away.

Beta, don't sit in front of the AC or fan directly when your neck is hurting, as cold air increases stiffness. Apply a little warm oil and do very gentle movements. If the pain does not go down in three days, please show it to a family doctor.

I tried all kinds of herbal balms and hot water bags for my shoulder pain. Ultimately, what helped most was doing very gentle shoulder shrugs and switching to a firm cervical pillow. Avoid sleeping on the side that hurts and give it some rest.
