How to help middle back pain?

I've started feeling a persistent ache in my middle back, right between my shoulder blades. It gets worse after sitting at my desk for too long. Are there any specific stretches or posture tips that can help with this kind of back pain?

Hey there! Try doing some light chest-opening stretches, it really helps open up that middle back area. Don't forget to take happy little walking breaks from your desk every hour!

Middle back pain often arises from a closed chest posture and shallow breathing. Practicing gentle Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) and deep thoracic breathing very slowly can help release the locked muscles. Always listen to your body and never stretch past your comfort limit.

Please try to rest your back on a firm chair with a small cushion supporting your spine. Hope you get some relief soon.

My teenage son got terrible middle back pain because of carrying a heavy school bag and slouching over his laptop. We got him a proper study chair and made him do basic upper body stretches every evening, which helped immensely. Make sure you check your daily sitting posture.

Try using an over-the-counter warm gel pack on the middle back to relax the muscles. Make sure your computer screen is at eye level so you aren't bending your neck forward, which strains the middle spine. If the pain is accompanied by any chest discomfort, seek medical attention immediately.

Instead of immediately booking expensive physiotherapy sessions, try checking your mattress first or use a rolled-up towel for chair support. If the pain doesn't go away in a week, plan for a basic GP consultation first rather than directly opting for costly private scans.

Middle back pain can sometimes be linked to other internal issues or poor posture affecting your ribs. It is always safest to get a proper checkup with a doctor rather than trying random exercises you see online. Please be safe.

I just got over a nasty middle back pain that lasted for two weeks. What finally cured it was simple foam rolling and changing my work desk setup so I wasn't hunching over my keyboard. It takes a few days of consistent posture correction to feel the difference.
