How to help kidney pain at home?

I've been experiencing a dull ache in my lower back, which feels like kidney pain. I haven't seen a doctor yet, but is there anything I can do at home to help with the discomfort before I get it checked?

At home, my family always says to drink barley water to soothe the urinary system. However, kidney pain can indicate a stone or infection. Please visit a doctor to get an ultrasound done.

Kidney pain is actually very scary, yaar. Don't try to manage it at home with random hacks. If the pain is sharp and on one side, it could be a stone, so please get it checked.

Let's be clear: kidney pain is not something you treat at home. Go to a hospital and get a kidney function test and USG done. Self-treating can cause serious damage.

I totally get it, that lower back kidney pain is absolutely unbearable. While you wait to see the doctor, you can apply a warm heating pad to your back for mild relief.

I recently had severe pain that I thought was backache but was actually a kidney stone. Drinking 3-4 liters of water daily helped, but I needed proper medication from a urologist to manage the intense pain.
