How to help ingrown toenail pain?

Been suffering from ingrown toenail pain for a few weeks now. It's really bothering me, especially when I wear shoes. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain at home?

Soaking your foot in warm water with a little Epsom salt for 15 minutes can really help soften the skin around the nail and reduce pain. However, if you see pus, redness spreading, or have severe pain, please go see a doctor as it might be infected.

I suggest visiting a hospital or a dermatologist to get the nail trimmed safely. Ask the doctor clearly about how to cut your nails in the future to prevent this from happening again. Don't try to dig it out yourself with sharp tools.

I try to be very careful with any skin infections or nail issues because healing can sometimes take longer. Keeping the foot clean and dry, and wearing open-toed footwear helped me. It's best to have a doctor look at it if it is very painful.

My toe is swollen, red, and throbbing, and I'm so worried the infection might spread to the bone. Has anyone else experienced this severe pain with an ingrown nail? Should I go to a clinic immediately?

I had this a few months ago because of wearing tight shoes. I switched to comfortable sandals and kept my foot clean, which really helped ease the pressure. Try to avoid wearing closed shoes until the pain settles down!

If you have diabetes, an ingrown toenail can quickly turn into a serious diabetic foot ulcer if ignored. Please do not try any home remedies or self-cutting. Go to a podiatrist or your doctor immediately to get it professionally treated.
