How to help dandruff and dry scalp?

My scalp has been super dry and flaky, and along with that comes the dandruff. It's really irritating and makes my hair look dull. How can I treat both dandruff and dry scalp at the same time?

Please make sure it is actually just dandruff and not something like psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis. If your scalp is red, bleeding, or extremely itchy, it's safer to get it evaluated by a proper doctor before applying anything.

I noticed my scalp health improved a lot when I started exercising regularly and sweating out toxins, followed by a proper clean shower. Good blood circulation from a daily brisk walk or jog really helps nourish your skin and hair follicles, as long as you wash the sweat off properly.

Honestly, the pollution in our metros makes scalp health so much worse. I suggest getting a good clarifying shampoo for the build-up and a hydrating scalp serum instead of thick oils. Don't ignore it, just book an appointment with a skin specialist.

Dry scalp and dandruff together is the worst combination ever, yaar. Actually, I used to put too much shampoo thinking it will clean the flakes, but it just dried my scalp even more. Now I use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo which is way better.

Keep your mind calm and stress-free, as tension often shows up as skin and scalp irritation. Drink plenty of water daily to hydrate your body from within. Take care of your health, eat simple fresh meals, and trust that this will heal soon.

I have seen many people face this issue during seasonal changes. The key is to balance moisture; use a gentle antidandruff shampoo only on the scalp and a good conditioner on your hair strands. Don't use very hot water for your head baths as it strips away natural oils.
