How to help cavity pain at home?

Last night, my tooth started hurting really bad because of a cavity. I can't get to a dentist right away. What can I do at home for temporary relief from this cavity pain?

To gently soothe the tooth, try rinsing your mouth with warm water mixed with a little rock salt. This helps cleanse the area naturally. However, please remember that this is only temporary relief and a dentist must be consulted.

Avoid any sweet or very cold drinks right now as they will trigger intense pain in the cavity. Keep your hydration clean with normal-temperature water. Make sure to get a dental appointment soon to fix the root cause.

While pressing a clove or using clove oil on the affected tooth can temporarily numb the pain, it won't cure the cavity. The decay will continue to spread to the root. Please consult a qualified dentist as soon as possible.

Ah, the sweet pain of an ignored cavity reminding us of all those late-night chocolates! Chewing on a piece of garlic might help reduce the throbbing for a while, but do yourself a favor and book a dentist appointment tomorrow.

When cavity pain hit me during a busy workday, applying a drop of clove oil on a cotton swab was the only thing that let me focus. It buys you a few hours of relief, but make sure to block time for a clinic visit.

High sugar levels can actually worsen dental infections and slow down healing. Make sure you brush twice daily and avoid any sweet foods, especially with a cavity. Get it treated by a doctor before the infection spreads.

I get so anxious about dental pain because I always fear it will lead to a root canal or severe infection. Try doing a warm salt water flush to keep it clean, but please don't delay visiting a dentist to get it checked.

Biting down on a dry clove near the painful cavity is a quick way to temporarily numb the ache.
