My son developed bunion pain because of wearing tight football shoes. We bought him wider shoes with a spacious toe box, and it made an immediate difference. Please make sure your child is not squeezing their feet into narrow footwear.

I got bad bunion pain from wearing narrow sneakers to college every day. I bought some cheap silicone toe separators online and wear them while studying at night, and they actually help relieve the pressure.

I suffered from bunion pain for months and finally found relief by switching entirely to barefoot-style shoes. Applying an ice pack to the joint after a long day of walking also helps reduce the throbbing and swelling.

My big toe joint has started curving inward and it hurts to walk even in normal flats now. Does this mean I will eventually need surgery, or can it be cured just by changing my shoes? I am really worried about this.

Agree with changing your shoes. Wearing footwear with a wide toe box is absolutely essential to stop bunion pain from worsening.
