How to help break a high fever?

My son has a really high fever since morning, almost 103 degrees. We've given him medicine, but it's not coming down fast enough. What else can I do at home to bring his fever down quickly?

For high fever, sponge wiping with normal tap water is actually the best way to bring the temperature down quickly, yaar. Don't use ice-cold water because that can make the body shiver and raise the temperature even more. Keep drinking water and electrolytes.

Please don't try to wait out a high fever at home. I once ignored a high fever thinking it was just a normal viral flu, and it turned out to be severe dengue that dropped my platelets dangerously. Go to a clinic and get a proper blood test done immediately.

While cold sponging helps manage a high fever temporarily, you must consult a doctor to identify the underlying infection. Do not self-medicate with high doses of paracetamol or antibiotics without a prescription. Please monitor the temperature with a digital thermometer every few hours.

Drinking warm tulsi and ginger tea can help soothe the body chills. However, if the fever crosses 102 degrees or doesn't come down after taking prescribed medicine, please go to a hospital immediately as high fevers can be dangerous.

Keep the room well-ventilated and don't wrap the patient in heavy blankets as it traps the heat inside. A simple wet cloth kept on the forehead helps lower the heat. Give light food like dal water or rice kanji to keep their strength up.

When you have a high fever, your body is burning a lot of energy to fight the infection, so absolute rest is mandatory. Avoid any physical exertion and focus on hydration with coconut water and warm broths. Let your immune system do its job without extra stress.

High fever mein body weak ho jati hai, haan na. Just rest completely and do sponge bathing on the forehead, neck, and underarms. Rest is very important to recover, so don't force yourself to do any household chores.

In times of high fever, practicing very slow, deep diaphragmatic breathing can help calm the nervous system. Keep your body light, eat simple boiled foods, and allow the body's natural healing intelligence to restore balance. God bless.
