How to help bad tooth pain?

Since yesterday night, I've had this really bad toothache, it's unbearable! I can't even eat properly. Please suggest something that can give me some relief at home, even for a little while.

For temporary relief, doing a warm salt water rinse 3-4 times a day works wonders to reduce the throbbing. You can also press a clove near the painful tooth, but if there's swelling or fever, please see a dentist immediately.

My mother always tells me to bite on a small piece of garlic for toothaches, and it does help for an hour or two. But honestly, nothing replaces a proper dentist visit to clean out the cavity or infection properly. Do book an appointment soon.

My dentist explained that tooth pain usually means an infection has reached the nerve, which home remedies cannot cure. He strictly advised against placing aspirin directly on the gums as it causes chemical burns. Get it checked before the infection spreads.

A bad toothache can completely ruin your day, I know how painful it is. While you wait for your dental appointment, apply a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to numb the ache. Avoid eating anything very hot, cold, or sweet right now.

I had a severe toothache last month and went straight to the dental clinic at our local hospital. They did an X-ray and found a deep cavity that needed a filling. It's much safer to let a professional look at it rather than trying things at home.
