How to help arthritis in hip?

My father is getting quite old now, and he's having a lot of trouble with arthritis in his hip. He can't even walk properly sometimes. Are there any simple things we can do at home to give him some relief?

For hip pain, actually a lot depends on your posture while sitting, yaar. I started using an orthopedic cushion on my office chair and it gave some relief. But seriously, go see a doctor to get a proper treatment plan because hip issues can make walking so difficult.

Please do not ignore this or try to just drag through the day like I did. I kept delaying my checkup thinking it is normal weakness, and now my mobility has seriously suffered. Go to a good orthopedic specialist first and get an X-ray done to see how much damage is actually there.

I tried everything from warm mustard oil massages to drinking turmeric milk every single night for my hip stiffness. While these small things give minor comfort, nothing worked as well as the targeted physiotherapy exercises my doctor suggested. I highly recommend finding a good physical therapist.

In my case, the doctor prescribed some mild pain relief gels and suggested low-impact exercises like swimming or gentle static cycling. It really helped reduce the pressure on my hip joint. I never take any heavy medicines without checking with my specialist first.

Take it easy and don't push yourself to walk too much if the pain is high today. It is really tough dealing with hip stiffness, but getting the right medical diagnosis will make things much clearer. Let the doctor guide you on safe stretches so you do not strain the joint further.
