How to help a high fever?
My wife has had a very high fever for two days now and medicines are not bringing it down much. Besides regular meds, are there any home remedies or other things we can do to help bring down a high fever?

Over the years, I have seen my kids and grandkids run high fevers. Sponge their forehead and body with normal tap water—never use ice-cold water as it makes them shiver more. Give them paracetamol but make sure to consult a doctor if the fever doesn't come down in a day.
For high fever, traditional water sponging on the forehead and underarms is the best way to bring the temperature down safely. Make sure they drink lots of coconut water or ORS to stay hydrated. If the fever stays high for more than 48 hours, definitely get blood tests done.
It is so terrifying when the thermometer shows 103 or 104, I completely understand the panic you are feeling. Just stay calm, keep them in light clothes, and do cold compresses. If they are very lethargic or shivering constantly, please take them to a clinic immediately.
High fever can be really exhausting and scary. Please keep sponging them with room-temperature water and consult a doctor right away.

My grandmother always used to say that warm kashayam helps with viral chills, but for a high fever, you must trust modern medicine. Keep the patient hydrated with warm water and rice kanji, and do check with your family doctor for the right dose of fever medicine.
