How to get rid of very bad dandruff?

My scalp has been super itchy lately, and I have a lot of flakes on my clothes, like, very bad dandruff. I've tried a few shampoos but nothing seems to work. What's the best way to get rid of very bad dandruff?

Oh no, bad dandruff can be so irritating and make you feel conscious! I always worry if I see any flakes. Have you tried seeing a dermatologist? Sometimes it's more than just dryness, maybe a fungal thing. Don't worry too much, but do get it checked properly.

I had really bad dandruff a few years ago. What helped me personally was switching to a specific anti-dandruff shampoo that my friend recommended. Also, I made sure to oil my hair less and wash it more frequently. This is just my experience, though, everyone is different.

My dermatologist explained that 'bad dandruff' can be seborrheic dermatitis, which needs specific antifungal shampoos. Look for ones with ingredients like ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione. Use as directed, often leaving it on for 5-10 minutes. If OTC doesn't work, a prescription might be needed.

Hmm, bad dandruff, eh? Maybe your scalp is craving some internal nourishment! Kidding, mostly. But honestly, sometimes what you eat reflects on your skin and scalp. Try to eat fresh food, less oily stuff. And maybe a good head massage with some neem oil before wash? Can't hurt!

Beta, don't worry so much about it. Dandruff is common, I've had it on and off my whole life. Sometimes a good strong anti-dandruff shampoo works wonders. Just be patient and try different ones, and remember to wash your hair regularly. It will settle down.
