Just started hitting the gym again after a break, and now my muscles are so sore! The post-workout pain is real. How can I effectively get rid of pain after working out?

That soreness is likely DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), which is quite common when you start lifting or change your routine. If your doctor allows, doing a very light 15-minute walk or gentle stretching helps flush out the lactic acid and speeds up recovery. Don't sit completely idle, active recovery works best.

I always get so worried that I've torn a ligament or permanently damaged my joints whenever I feel post-workout pain. If the soreness is equal on both sides, it's usually just muscle recovery, which is reassuring. But if you feel a sharp, sudden pain on one side, please consult a physiotherapist immediately.

I totally get it, that heavy, aching feeling makes even holding a water bottle feel like a chore. Please don't push yourself to work out hard again today; your body is asking for rest. Take a warm shower, drink lots of water, and give your muscles a day or two to heal properly.

Be very careful not to ignore sharp, localized joint pain thinking it's just normal soreness. I once ignored a persistent shoulder ache after bench pressing, ended up with a severe rotator cuff tear, and had to undergo months of rehab. If the pain doesn't subside in 3-4 days or hurts while resting, see a doctor.

No need to buy expensive massage guns or fancy protein supplements for basic soreness. A simple warm water bath with some Epsom salt and a light massage with mustard oil works beautifully for body aches. Just eat your home-cooked meals, rest, and let it heal naturally.

Welcome to the 'I can't sit down on the toilet' club after leg day! Honestly, the first few days feel like you got hit by a truck, but it gets better. Just enjoy the struggle, use some ice packs, and pray for your muscles to forgive you!
