Newborn dandruff is often called cradle cap, right? My neighbour's baby had it. She used to gently massage a little bit of baby oil on the baby's scalp before bath time, let it sit for a few minutes, and then comb out the flakes with a soft brush while shampooing. It usually clears up over time.

Newborn dandruff? As if new parents don't have enough to worry about! My baby had it too. I just used a mild baby shampoo and hoped for the best, usually too tired to do anything else, haha. But seriously, a soft baby brush and a bit of oil before bath can help. Good luck, you'll get through it!

For newborn dandruff, which is commonly known as cradle cap, it's best to consult your pediatrician. They might recommend specific mild baby shampoos or emollients. Always clarify the best method for your baby with the doctor to ensure it's safe and effective, especially for sensitive newborn skin.

Oh, my grandchildren also had this when they were tiny. It's very common, beta, nothing to worry about too much. Just take a little baby oil, gently rub it on their head before bathing, let it soften for a few minutes, and then use a soft baby comb to brush out the flakes. It will go away on its own.

My baby has some flakes on her head and I'm a bit worried if it's normal. Is it really just cradle cap? Did anyone else feel anxious about it too? I'm scared to rub anything too hard. What's the gentlest way to help it?

Newborns often have this cradle cap, don't worry. In our traditions, we would gently apply a little pure coconut oil to the baby's scalp before the bath. Let it sit for a while. Then use a very soft cloth or a baby brush to loosen the flakes during the bath. Be very gentle, like you are touching a flower.

While newborn care is different, with cradle cap, external applications are usually enough. Just ensure you're using very mild baby products. There's no dietary link, but generally, a healthy diet for the mother (if breastfeeding) is always good. Always check with the baby's doctor for specific advice though.
