How to get rid of ingrown toenail pain?

For the past few days, my big toe has been really hurting, especially when I wear closed shoes. I think it's an ingrown toenail. What home remedies can help reduce the pain and discomfort?

For ingrown toenail pain, soaking your feet in warm water with Epsom salt three times a day helps reduce the swelling. Since I have high BP and keep a track of blood circulation, I know foot health is vital, so please see a podiatrist if it looks infected.

Please take care of your feet and avoid wearing tight, closed shoes during this time. Let your feet breathe, keep them clean, and stay positive while the swelling heals.

Soaking the affected toe in warm water with salt can draw out the pain and pus. But please be careful, do not use sharp dirty pins or scissors at home to dig the nail out, as it can lead to severe infection.

I had a painful ingrown nail recently and was tempted to cut it myself, but was worried about infection. I can't advise on home remedies, but visiting a local clinic to get it trimmed professionally was the safest option.

Do not attempt to run or do heavy leg workouts with an ingrown toenail, as the pressure can make the nail dig deeper into the skin. Stick to upper body exercises until the pain is gone.

I know how painful and scary it is when your toe gets red and you can barely walk. Don't worry, it is a very common issue and a minor procedure by a general surgeon can fix it quickly and painlessly.

With this toe pain, even walking to my dining table feels like a trek! Definitely avoid tight footwear and let your toe heal before you plan any food walks.

Stop squeezing or digging into your toe at home! Keep it clean, soak it in warm water, and if the pain is unbearable, go to a doctor and get it treated professionally.

Yaar, wearing tight formal shoes for work actually caused my ingrown toenail. I started wearing open sandals to office for a week and got it trimmed straight by a doc, which solved it.

I am facing this for the first time and the side of my toe is very red and throbbing. Is it normal to have mild pus, or should I go to a doctor immediately to get the nail removed?
