How to get rid of infant eczema?

My little one, who is just 6 months old, has these red, itchy patches on her cheeks and in the creases of her arms. The doctor said it's infant eczema. Is there anything natural I can try at home to soothe it and make it go away?

My niece had dry, red eczema patches on her cheeks. What helped was using a very mild, fragrance-free baby wash, keeping her skin moisturized with a thick pediatrician-approved ointment, and wearing soft cotton clothes.

Infant eczema can sometimes get infected if they scratch it. Before applying any over-the-counter steroid creams or herbal remedies, please take your baby to a pediatrician for a safe and correct prescription.

Haan, babies have such sensitive skin na. Please avoid using any scented soaps or standard detergents to wash their clothes, as that can trigger the eczema. Plain water and a baby moisturizer are best.

Beta, do not bathe the small child with very hot water, it dries the skin completely. Use lukewarm water, keep the bath short, and gently apply pure coconut oil on their dry patches.

We used a humidity tracker in our baby's room and realized dry air was making his eczema flare up. Using a cool-mist humidifier really helped keep his skin hydrated during winters.

Please don't worry, babies have wonderful healing power and often outgrow eczema as their immunity builds up. Just keep their skin gently moisturized and take good care of them.

Keeping the baby's environment clean and dust-free is very important. Taking the baby out for fresh air in a stroller is great, but make sure they are shaded from direct hot sun which can trigger sweating and itching.
