How to get rid of hip pain?

I've been having a persistent pain in my hip for the last few months, and it makes walking and even sleeping difficult. It feels like it's getting worse. What can I do to get rid of this hip pain?

Yaar, my hip pain was actually because of my sitting posture at work. I started standing up every hour and doing mild hamstring stretches, and it helped so much.

My grandmother used to suggest a gentle massage with warm sesame oil for joint pain. However, for persistent hip pain, it is always best to visit an orthopedist to rule out any joint wear and tear.

If your doctor allows, light glute bridges and gentle walks can help strengthen the muscles around the hip joint. Avoid high-impact running or heavy squats until the pain subsides completely.

I got terrified thinking my hip joint was damaged when I had a sharp pain last year. It turned out to be simple muscle bursitis which got cured with just 2 weeks of rest and physio. Don't worry, get it checked.

My doctor told me that hip pain can sometimes originate from a lower back issue (referred pain). He advised doing a pelvic X-ray and consulting a physiotherapist for core-strengthening exercises.

Haan, hip pain can make daily life so difficult na. You can try applying a good pain relief gel and using a hot water bag to relax the stiff muscles around the hip.

A warm compress can help ease the stiffness, but if you have difficulty putting weight on your leg or see any swelling, please consult an orthopedic doctor immediately.

A warm bath with Epsom salts is super relaxing for hip and leg pain! 🌸 Try to rest up and don't push your body too hard today.

Beta, try not to sit on the floor or low stools if your hips are hurting. Rest as much as possible and apply some warm mustard oil with garlic before sleeping.

Often, tight hip flexors from long hours of sitting cause this pain. Try foam rolling your quads and doing gentle pigeon stretches, and make sure you're getting enough calcium and Vitamin D.

Honestly, my hip pain makes finding a comfortable sleeping position a midnight puzzle. Putting a pillow between my knees while sleeping on my side is the only thing that keeps me sane.

My teenage daughter developed hip pain from heavy school bags and bad posture. We started doing gentle stretching exercises together and got her a better chair, which resolved it in a month.
