How to get rid of gum pain?

My gums have been hurting for the past few days, especially when I eat anything cold or hot. It's really bothering me and making it hard to concentrate. What can I do to get some relief?

Hey, don't worry, gum pain can be really irritating but it's usually easy to handle. First, do a warm salt water rinse right now to soothe the area. Avoid eating anything very hot or spicy today, and if it doesn't get better by tomorrow, we will get it checked by a dentist.

Gum pain can indicate a deep-seated dental infection or abscess, which can't be fixed by home remedies. I always visit my dental clinic to get an X-ray done. Ask your doctor clearly about the cause instead of delaying treatment.

Every time I eat dry fruits, my gums decide to go on strike. I just hold a clove near the painful spot for quick relief, it works wonders. But if the pain is making you miserable, go to the dentist instead of chewing cloves all day like me.

I was actually researching this because my gums swell up occasionally. Apparently, even hard brushing or a vitamin deficiency can cause gum pain. Using a soft toothbrush and doing regular salt water rinses seem to be the most recommended starting tips.

When you have gum pain, it's best to avoid high-intensity workouts that cause heavy breathing and dry out your mouth. Stick to walking or light yoga to keep your circulation good, which actually helps with healing. Make sure to consult your dentist if the pain persists.
