How to get rid of fungal dandruff?

I've been dealing with this stubborn dandruff for months now, and I suspect it might be fungal because my scalp feels really itchy and has thick flakes. Regular anti-dandruff shampoos aren't helping. What can I do to get rid of fungal dandruff?

Fungal dandruff bahut ziddi hota hai na. Normal shampoo se nahi jayega, haan. Ek baar doctor se pooch kar ketoconazole shampoo use karo, usse jaldi farak padta hai.

While there are many over-the-counter anti-dandruff shampoos, fungal infections on the scalp can vary. It is best to consult a dermatologist who can prescribe the right antifungal lotion, rather than experimenting and damaging your hair.

Ketoconazole shampoo is the only thing that actually works for fungal dandruff. Don't oil your hair, it feeds the fungus.

Stop putting heavy coconut oil on your scalp thinking it will cure dryness. Fungus feeds on oil, which makes it worse. Wash your hair regularly with a medicated shampoo and keep your comb clean.

I was researching this and found out that malassezia is the fungus responsible for this dandruff. It thrives in humid weather, so keeping your scalp dry and using a zinc pyrithione shampoo seems to be the standard treatment.

I have been facing this itchy, flaky scalp for a week now and it's really troubling me. Does anyone know if applying apple cider vinegar diluted in water actually helps, or will it irritate my scalp more?

My teenage daughter had severe fungal dandruff that caused hair fall. I made her stop using oily hair packs and got her a mild antifungal shampoo prescribed by our skin doctor. Her scalp cleared up in three weeks.

I barely have time to wash my hair with all the work pressure, and now this fungal itch is keeping me awake at night. I just wash it with whatever anti-dandruff shampoo is on sale and hope for the best, though a dermatologist visit is badly needed.

I heard that eating too much sugar and yeast-heavy foods like bakery bread can trigger fungal growth on the skin. While I can't give up my cakes, I am trying to eat more curd and probiotic foods to balance things out.

I get so anxious when my scalp starts itching because I worry it will lead to permanent baldness or a severe skin infection. Please don't scratch it with your nails, as that can cause secondary bacterial infections. Get a doctor to look at it.
