How to get rid of fever without medicine?

My son has a slight fever but he really hates taking medicines. Are there any home remedies or natural ways to reduce his fever without giving him pills? My wife also prefers natural methods.

You can cool the system down by resting quietly and practicing sheetali pranayama if you have a mild temperature. However, do not strain yourself. Allow your breath to remain slow and deep in a cool, airy room.

I was just reading online that our body actually raises its temperature to kill off viruses, so suppressing it instantly with pills isn't always necessary for very mild fevers. Letting the body rest naturally under supervision seems to be the logical way.

Honestly, just feed your body simple, comforting food. A warm bowl of clear chicken or vegetable soup with lots of black pepper works wonders for me when I want to avoid taking heavy tablets.

If you are trying to manage without meds, track your temperature hourly on your phone. Drink plenty of electrolyte fluids to avoid dehydration. If the trend line keeps going up past 101, it's time to skip the natural route and consult a doctor.

Wet sponge compresses on the forehead, neck, and underarms are the oldest and safest ways to pull heat out of the body. Drink warm barley water or light tulsi tea to keep the insides clean, but don't avoid the doctor if the fever rises.

Please be very careful about trying to avoid medicine when you have a high fever. I once tried to cure a fever naturally at home, only for it to turn into a severe kidney infection that landed me in the hospital. Always consult a professional.

I used to panic the moment my temperature hit 99 and would rush to take pills. But my doctor reassured me that mild fevers are totally normal and can be managed just by taking a lukewarm shower and sleeping it off.
