How to get rid of eczema on scalp?

My scalp is constantly itchy and flaky because of severe eczema, and it's quite embarrassing. I want to find a way to get rid of eczema on my scalp permanently. Any remedies?

I can only share what worked in my personal experience with scalp eczema. I stopped using heavily perfumed hair oils and shifted to a mild, pH-balanced shampoo which reduced the itchiness. For any serious medical treatment or medicated lotions, it is best to consult a dermatologist.

Scalp eczema is usually seborrheic dermatitis, and random home remedies like lemon juice will only burn your skin and damage hair follicles. Save your time and get a prescription for a ketoconazole or coal tar shampoo from a doctor. Use it twice a week and keep your scalp clean and oil-free.

Please be very careful and see a doctor for scalp eczema. I ignored mine and kept scratching it, which led to a severe bacterial infection, oozing sores, and temporary patchy hair loss. Don't take it lightly or try harsh home remedies; get professional medical help before things get complicated.

Actually, my scalp eczema was getting worse because I was washing my hair with super hot water, yaar. I switched to lukewarm water and stopped scratching my scalp with nails while shampooing. It really helps to use a mild, doctor-prescribed shampoo and just let your scalp heal.

Does anyone else get terrible itching on the back of their head and neck along with flaky scalp? I get so anxious that it will lead to permanent baldness or severe infection. Please tell me if a dermatologist can cure this completely, I am too stressed about it.

My dermatologist explained that scalp eczema is often linked to an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast, which thrives on sebum. The doctor advised me to avoid heavy oiling as it feeds the yeast, and instead prescribed a medicated shampoo to control the scaling and inflammation. Consistent, gentle scalp hygiene is key.
