Lip eczema can be triggered by internal deficiencies, so make sure you are getting enough Vitamin B and staying well hydrated. Avoid licking your lips, as saliva actually dries them out more. For relief, use plain white petroleum jelly instead of flavored or scented lip balms which contain irritating chemicals.

When my lips got extremely dry, dark, and started peeling around the edges, I panicked thinking it was a severe infection. But my doctor reassured me that it is just cheilitis or lip eczema, which is very treatable. With a mild prescription ointment and switching to a basic lip balm, it cleared up in a week.

As someone managing diabetes, I have to be very careful with skin infections and cracked lips because they take longer to heal. I avoid any flavored or sweet lip balms entirely as they encourage lip licking. Keeping my blood sugar in check and using a doctor-prescribed gentle cream is what keeps my lip eczema under control.

In our home, we apply fresh butter or coconut oil on chapped lips, which is very soothing. But lip eczema can be quite painful and persistent, so please do not scrub or use home remedies if the skin is bleeding. It is best to consult a dermatologist who can guide you with a safe, food-grade ointment.

For eczema on the lips, the key is to eliminate potential irritants. Stop using any fancy lipsticks, minty toothpastes, or spicy foods for a few days to see if the irritation subsides. Apply a thick layer of plain ghee or 100% pure petroleum jelly regularly, and see a doctor if it doesn't improve.

Lip eczema is super annoying but easily manageable! 🌸 Just toss out any scented or tingly lip products and stick to basic vaseline. Drink tons of water and let your lips heal naturally without picking at the dry flakes. Hope you feel better soon! 😊
