How to get rid of atopic eczema?

My skin has been very dry, itchy, and red in patches for a long time, and my dermatologist said it's atopic eczema. It's quite irritating. What steps can I take to get rid of atopic eczema?

Honestly, keeping the skin wet after showers was the game changer for me. I started applying a heavy ceramides moisturizer within three minutes of bathing, exactly like my dermatologist said. It takes time but the flare-ups have finally stopped now.

Beta, please don't use harsh chemical soaps on your skin as they make the dryness much worse. You can apply a little virgin coconut oil gently, but if the itching is too severe or spreading, please consult a skin specialist instead of trying home remedies.

Totally agree with the gentle moisturizer tip. Avoiding extremely hot water baths also helped my cousin a lot with his eczema flare-ups.

I have also been noticing dry, itchy red patches on my neck recently and I'm quite worried. Does atopic eczema stay forever, or can we fully cure it with some daily creams?

Bro, I had this on my elbows and it was so annoying. Just stop scratching it first, it makes it ten times worse. I went to a doc, got a proper ointment, and switched to a super mild body wash.

Skin issues can sometimes be linked to other internal health changes or hormonal imbalances. I highly recommend visiting a good dermatologist and maybe getting basic blood tests done to find the root cause.
