How to get rid of arthritis in knees?

My knees have been giving me a lot of trouble lately, especially when climbing stairs. My physio mentioned it's likely arthritis. What can I do to get rid of this persistent knee pain?

I have been dealing with knee pain for fifteen years now. Don't lose hope, dear. Keeping my weight in check and doing basic leg raises on the bed every morning has kept me active enough to play with my grandkids without major issues.

My dad has bad knee arthritis and he found that wearing a simple gel knee cap during his evening walks helps him a lot. He also stopped using Indian toilets and switched to western ones to avoid bending his knees too deep.

I totally get it, knee pain is so exhausting because it makes even going to the bathroom feel like a huge task. It really drains your mental strength. Please take plenty of rest and try not to force yourself to walk when the pain is severe.

Knee arthritis is a progressive structural issue, so there is no overnight cure. The best approach is a balanced combination of low-impact exercise, weight management, and medical guidance from a qualified orthopedic doctor.

For knee arthritis flare-ups, you can apply a cold pack for 15 minutes to reduce acute swelling. Avoid sitting on the floor or cross-legged, as this puts maximum stress on the knee joints. Get a proper consultation to see if you need cartilage supplements.

I went to a reputed bone and joint hospital last month for my knee issues. The doctor gave me a very clear picture of my joint health after an X-ray and explained exactly what exercises to avoid. Definitely consult a good specialist to get personalized clarity.
