How to get rid of an ocular migraine?

I occasionally experience what feels like an ocular migraine, where I see flashing lights before a headache. It's quite alarming. What can I do to get rid of an ocular migraine or reduce its severity?

I get these scary blind spots and flashing lights sometimes when I am too stressed. Honestly, the best thing to do is immediately sit down in a dark room and close your eyes. Trying to look at your phone or continue working will only make the visual disturbances worse.

Hey, don't panic when your vision starts acting up; it is usually temporary and will pass in about 20 to 30 minutes. Just find a quiet place to lie down and rest your eyes completely. If this is the first time you are experiencing this, make sure to get it checked by a doctor just to be safe.

It is a very unsettling feeling when your vision gets blurry. Just sit quietly in a calm, dark space and let it pass slowly. You will be okay, just give yourself some time to rest.

Do not treat vision changes lightly or rely on random home remedies you read online. Flashing lights or sudden blind spots can be symptoms of a serious retinal issue, not just a migraine. Please get a proper dilated eye exam from an ophthalmologist to rule out anything severe.

I have had these ocular episodes for over twenty years now, and they always go away on their own within half an hour. Don't let fear make your heart race, as stress only makes it worse. Just sit comfortably, close your eyes, and let the storm in your head pass quietly.

Haan, ocular migraine mein aankhon ke aage ajeeb se patterns banne lagte hain, main samajh sakta hoon. Aise mein turant laptop band kar do aur thoda sa thanda paani pi kar aaram karo. Doctor se checkup karwana zaroori hai na.

Look, if you are seeing zigzag lines, stop staring at your laptop screen immediately. Keep your phone away, drink a glass of water, and close your eyes in a dark room for half an hour. If it doesn't go away or happens often, go see an eye specialist.

My ocular migraines became much more frequent when my thyroid levels were off. While resting in a dark room helps during the attack, I highly recommend getting your thyroid stimulated hormone (TSH) tested. Keeping your hormones balanced with your doctor's guidance is key to preventing these episodes.

My mother always tells me to wash my face with cool water and rest in a well-ventilated room when this happens. While that brings wonderful comfort, I always make sure to consult my eye doctor regularly. It is always safest to combine traditional care with proper professional advice.

For ocular migraines, keeping a trigger diary is incredibly useful. Many people find that bright fluorescent lights, artificial sweeteners, or dehydration are direct causes. Make sure you drink enough water and try to limit screen glare with anti-reflective glasses if you work on computers all day.
