How to get over fear of vomiting?

Ever since I was little, I've had this intense fear of vomiting, it's called emetophobia. It makes me anxious in so many situations, especially when I feel nauseous. How can I get over this fear of vomiting?

Emetophobia can become so severe that you might start skipping meals, which happened to me and led to severe nutritional deficiencies and acidity. Please do not let this fear control your life. Consult a therapist or doctor who can help you with cognitive behavioral therapy.

My daughter had this intense fear after a bad food poisoning episode. We helped her by keeping a small 'comfort kit' with wet wipes and water in her bag, and slowly reassuring her that vomiting is very rare and only happens to help the body heal.

Constant nausea can sometimes be linked to hormonal imbalances like thyroid issues or severe acidity. It is always better to get a routine blood test done and consult your physician to find out if there is a physical cause for your frequent nausea.

I was reading about this online, and it is actually called emetophobia. Many people find that carrying a small mouthwash, some mints, or sniffing ginger oil helps them feel in control during moments of anxiety.

Beta, in my long life, I have realized that vomiting is just the body's natural way of cleaning itself and protecting us from bad food. It lasts only a minute and you feel much lighter immediately after. Do not let this small thing worry you so much.
