How to get fever down adult?

I've caught a bad fever, and it's making me feel completely drained. I've taken my usual medicines, but it's still quite high. What are the best ways to get my fever down as an adult? Should I try any specific remedies or just rest?

For adults, cool compresses on the forehead and armpits can help. Make sure you're getting enough fluids – water, clear broths, coconut water are all good. Paracetamol is usually the go-to for fever, but follow the dosage on the pack or what your doctor recommends. Rest is non-negotiable!

Fever is just your body's way of fighting. Stay calm, maintain positive thoughts, and let your body do its work. Support it with light, nourishing food and plenty of rest. Remember, this too shall pass. Take care of yourself.

Oh no, feel better soon! 🤒 Lots of warm fluids, rest, and maybe a cozy blanket. If it's too high, definitely check with a doc! You got this! ✨

My go-to for fever is always a light, home-cooked meal like khichdi, lots of water, and just sleeping it off. I generally avoid heavy food. If it persists for more than a day, then I visit my family doctor. That's just what works for me.

I literally just recovered from a bad viral fever last week. What helped me was having only bland, home-cooked food, constantly sipping warm water, taking prescribed fever medicine on time, and absolute bed rest. Don't try to be a hero and work from home; just disconnect and rest.

As someone with PCOS, I've learned that sometimes fevers can be tricky and linked to underlying inflammation. So while basic care like rest and fluids is important, if the fever is high or lasts long, it's always wise to consult a doctor to rule out anything serious. Don't take chances.

Ugh, fever always ruins my appetite! 😞 But try to eat something light like a simple dal-chawal or a mild soup. Don't skip meals entirely, even if you don't feel like it. Maybe some ginger tea to make you feel a bit better? It's tough when you can't enjoy food!

Fevers can get expensive with doctor visits and tests. For an adult, basic paracetamol is cheap. But if it persists, don't shy away from getting basic blood tests like CBC and dengue panel, even if they cost a bit. Better to know the cause and treat it right than let it get worse.

I'm always curious about this topic because fevers just hit you so suddenly. So many people suggest different things, but it seems like rest and hydration are the universal answers, right? Also, knowing when to call the doctor is key.
