How to get a newborn on a sleep schedule?

My newborn is a few weeks old, and her sleep is all over the place, making our nights very chaotic. Everyone talks about 'sleep training' and 'schedules'. How can I get my newborn on a proper sleep schedule?

With a newborn, patience and gentle love are most important. Schedules come in time. Focus on creating a peaceful and calm environment for the baby. Soft music, a gentle massage, and quiet time before bed can help. Trust in nature's rhythm, and have faith that with your loving care, things will fall into place. Stay positive, mother.

Oh, the newborn sleep schedule mission! 😴 It's tough but doable! Start with a consistent bedtime routine (bath, feed, lullaby). Keep day naps in daylight and night sleeps in darkness. It takes time and lots of cuddles! You got this, mama! ✨💖

This question probably comes from a place of exhaustion, and I totally feel you! The pressure to get a newborn on a schedule can be so overwhelming and cause so much anxiety. Remember that newborns are not robots; their sleep is erratic initially. Focus on safe sleep practices and responding to their cues. A routine will emerge, but be gentle with yourself and the baby, and don't compare.

Newborn sleep schedule? More like newborn feeding schedule, haha! My advice is to make sure their tummies are full before bedtime, a good feed always makes them sleep better. And maybe a warm bath first? A happy, full baby is a sleepy baby, just like a happy foodie! Good luck, mama!

Okay, this is what worked for me with both my kids. Consistency is key. Start a simple bedtime routine early on: bath, massage, feed, then bed. Keep the nighttime environment dark and quiet, and daytime naps light and noisy. Don't expect instant results, it's a gradual process, but stick to the routine daily. Also, differentiate between hunger cues and comfort crying. You'll get there!
