Oh, text neck! I literally just recovered from this. What made a huge difference was raising my monitor to eye level and holding my phone higher. Also, taking frequent 2-minute breaks to do neck stretches and shoulder rolls. Consistency is key, it won't go away overnight.

Neck pain from looking down for long periods is very common, I know many, including myself, who struggle with it. While lifestyle changes like adjusting screen height and taking breaks are important, if the pain is persistent, please don't just push through. It's always best to get a doctor's opinion, as sometimes even small issues can become bigger. Be gentle with yourself.

Neck pain from looking down, often called 'tech neck,' is a musculoskeletal issue that can worsen over time. While improving ergonomics is vital, if the pain is severe, accompanied by stiffness, or causes headaches, it's crucial to consult an orthopedic doctor or a physiotherapist. They can assess for any underlying issues and provide a tailored solution. Don't self-diagnose.

This is exactly my problem! My neck feels so stiff and achy after working on my laptop. Does anyone else get headaches from it sometimes? I'm worried it's doing permanent damage. What specific stretches do you all find most effective?

I used to get terrible neck pain from looking at my phone for hours, and I got so worried it was something permanent. But then I made a conscious effort to hold my phone higher and took frequent breaks to stretch. It really helped. So don't panic, but do change your habits. A doctor can confirm it's just a strain too, for peace of mind.
