How to fix my dandruff problem?

I've had dandruff for a long time, and it's really embarrassing sometimes, especially when I wear dark clothes. I've tried a few anti-dandruff shampoos, but nothing seems to work permanently. How can I fix my dandruff problem for good?

Dandruff can sometimes be related to diet, too. Try reducing sugary foods and processed items, and increase your intake of Omega-3 rich foods like flaxseeds (if you're vegetarian) and fresh fruits/vegetables. Some people find that specific deficiencies can worsen scalp health. Worth looking into alongside external treatments.

I battled with severe dandruff for years! What finally worked was finding an anti-dandruff shampoo with zinc pyrithione or ketoconazole and using it consistently, 2-3 times a week. Also, don't forget to condition only the lengths, not the scalp. And wash your pillowcases often. It takes a bit of trial and error to find the right shampoo.

Oh, dandruff! I've been researching this too for a friend. It seems like a lot of people recommend specific medicated shampoos. Is it really effective long-term, or do you have to keep using them forever? Also, does stress actually make it worse?

Excuse me, I'm new to this problem, but what kind of anti-dandruff shampoo should I look for? There are so many options. Do certain ingredients work better than others, or is it more about hair type? Any gentle suggestions would be helpful.

While many cases of dandruff are common, persistent or severe flaking, redness, or itching could indicate other scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis or even fungal infections. It's always best to consult a dermatologist. They can accurately diagnose the cause and prescribe the most effective treatment for you.
