How to fix gum disease at home?

My father has some gum issues and sometimes I feel a similar irritation in my mouth. I wanted to know if there are any home remedies or things I can do myself to improve my gum health, before I go to a doctor.

With things like gum disease, it's really easy to want a quick home fix, just like with PCOS you search for natural remedies. But honestly, for an infection or disease, a doctor is best. Home remedies can support, but not replace, professional treatment. Be cautious, okay?

Fixing gum disease 'at home' is a risky idea. Most internet remedies are not scientifically proven, and delaying professional treatment can make it worse. Gum disease, if left untreated, can lead to serious issues. Please, always get it verified by a proper dentist.

Being diabetic, I know how important it is to be careful with any infection, including gum disease. While maintaining good oral hygiene at home is crucial, for an existing disease, you absolutely need a dentist. Sugar control is also vital for gum health, so that's something I focus on.

Gum disease needs professional treatment, not just home remedies. Go to a good dental clinic or hospital and get a proper check-up. Ask the dentist about scaling and root planing, which are often necessary. They'll also guide you on specific oral hygiene practices for your condition.

I can only share my experience. For maintaining gum health, I focus on brushing and flossing regularly. If I ever felt bleeding or pain, I immediately went to the dentist for a check-up. Trying to fix gum disease purely at home can be difficult and might not be enough.
