How to eliminate dandruff and dry scalp?

I've been struggling with dandruff and a very dry scalp for a while now, no matter what shampoo I use. It's quite embarrassing and itchy. What are some effective ways to eliminate dandruff and get rid of this dry scalp issue permanently?

Dandruff and dry scalp, sounds like my life story! One minute it's flakes, next it's itchy dryness. Honestly, the only way I manage it is with a good anti-dandruff shampoo that also has moisturizing properties, and not washing my hair every single day. My head needs a break, just like I do!

Please don't ignore it like I did! I thought it was just regular dandruff, but it got so bad and itchy. Turns out it was seborrheic dermatitis, which needed proper medical shampoo. It's always best to show it to a dermatologist once, just to rule out anything serious and get the right treatment.

Oh, tell me about it, dry scalp and dandruff is the worst combo! I found that oiling my hair with coconut or almond oil a few hours before washing helps a lot with the dryness. And for dandruff, a good anti-dandruff shampoo that's not too harsh, used consistently. Also, make sure you rinse your hair properly after shampooing.

Haan na, dry scalp ke saath dandruff bohot irritating hota hai. What helps for me is not washing hair with very hot water, it dries out scalp more. And thoda hair oil massage before wash, like coconut oil. Aur ek mild anti-dandruff shampoo jo scalp ko dry na kare. It's all about balancing, ho na?

For busy schedules, you need something effective and quick. I use a salicylic acid based shampoo twice a week for dandruff, and for dryness, I make sure to use a good leave-in conditioner or serum on the lengths, avoiding the scalp. Also, staying hydrated throughout the day helps with overall skin dryness, including the scalp.

Don't panic too much, it's a common issue! I used to get so stressed about it. But then I realized many people deal with it. My solution was using a specific shampoo recommended by my aunt for both dandruff and dryness, and making sure my hair was completely dry before tying it up. Give it some time, it gets better.

While many remedies exist, if it's persistent or severe, it's always safer to consult a dermatologist. They can identify the exact cause – be it fungal, eczema, or just dry skin – and prescribe the correct medicated products. Self-diagnosing might delay proper treatment, so a check-up is always a good idea.
