How to eliminate back pain while sleeping?

For the past few months, I've been waking up with a terrible backache. I suspect it's related to my sleeping position or mattress. What can I do to eliminate back pain while sleeping?

Ugh, back pain is the worst, definitely ruins my sleep! I've found that sometimes, indulging in a heavy dinner makes it worse, weirdly. Maybe it's not directly related, but I feel lighter and sleep better if I have a simple, early meal. Also, my mom swears by a warm glass of haldi doodh before bed for general aches. Worth a try!

Back pain while sleeping? Tell me about it! I've spent so many nights tossing and turning. My wife tells me I sleep like a pretzel, probably why my back hates me. Honestly, a firm mattress and a pillow between the knees when sleeping on your side helps a little. Otherwise, I just sigh a lot and wait for morning, haha.

I used to panic so much whenever my back hurt in bed, thinking something serious was wrong. But then I realised my old mattress was probably the culprit. Investing in a good, firm mattress made a huge difference. Also, sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees really helped align my spine. Don't immediately jump to worst-case scenarios, check your sleep setup first!

My orthopaedic doctor told me that sleeping posture and mattress quality are critical for back pain. He recommended either sleeping on your back with a pillow under your knees, or on your side with a pillow between your knees. A medium-firm mattress is usually best. Also, try doing some gentle stretches before bed, that can relax the muscles. If it persists, a physio consult is important.

Back pain at night is truly awful, it can make you feel so helpless and exhausted. I've been there, waking up more tired than when I went to bed. For me, finding the right pillow to support my neck and a slightly firmer mattress made a big emotional and physical difference. It's okay to feel frustrated, but keep trying different things to find relief.
