How to eat as a diabetic?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with diabetes, and I'm very confused about what I can and cannot eat now. I want to manage it well through diet, so can someone give me a general idea of how a diabetic should eat?

Including foods like methi seeds soaked in water or high-fiber vegetables is excellent for keeping sugars stable. However, if your blood sugar numbers are consistently running very high, home tips are not enough. You must see your doctor for proper medication adjustment.

You don't need to buy expensive 'diabetic-friendly' packaged foods from the market. Plain whole wheat roti, sprouts, and local seasonal vegetables are highly affordable and perfect for managing sugar. Budget for regular HbA1c tests instead of spending on fancy health foods.

Please do not try to manage your diabetes solely through self-diet plans. I had poor blood sugar control which led to nerve complications in my feet because I delayed getting professional medical help. Work closely with a doctor and a certified dietician to get a personalized plan.

Eating mindfully and on time is key for diabetes. I prefer simple home-cooked meals with millets, fresh vegetables, and keeping a gap of at least three hours before sleeping. Combining this with gentle morning pranayama helps maintain a calm and healthy system.

My sugar levels shot up recently, and I had to completely restructure my meals. I started focusing on portion control, cutting out white rice, and eating more green vegetables and protein. Making these active food changes made a massive difference in my recent lab reports.

I totally get it, giving up your favorite sweets and carbs can feel so difficult and isolating at family gatherings. Try focusing on what you can add to your plate, like fresh salads and dal, rather than just what you are cutting out. You can manage this beautifully!
