While you wait to see a dentist, practicing slow, deep breathing (pranayama) can help calm your mind and slightly lower the pain perception. Applying a cold compress outside the cheek also helps numb the sensitive nerves. Always keep your body relaxed and seek medical care.

For quick relief, avoid any sweet, very cold, or hot beverages as they instantly irritate the exposed nerve. Sipping warm water can help soothe the tooth, and you should eat only soft foods like warm khichdi or curd. Avoid chewing from that side completely.

Applying a cold compress outside your cheek and rinsing with warm salt water gives the fastest temporary relief. Please see a dentist soon.

My grandmother always recommended placing a crushed clove on the aching tooth for fast relief. While this traditional method is very helpful to numb the pain temporarily, please get a dentist's appointment. It is the only way to treat the actual problem.
