How to ease the pain of tennis elbow?

My right elbow has been paining quite a bit, especially when I lift things or twist my arm. The physio said it looks like tennis elbow, but it's really affecting my work. Is there anything I can do at home to help with the pain?

I kept worrying that my elbow pain was permanent tendon damage and I wouldn't be able to lift anything again. But honestly, resting it completely and applying ice packs for 15 minutes really helped. Please don't stress, just stop lifting anything heavy and see a doctor to be safe!

To ease tennis elbow, you need to rest the extensor muscles of your forearm. If your doctor allows, you can do gentle wrist stretches and light walking to keep the blood flowing. Avoid any gripping actions or gym workouts that aggravate the outer elbow.

Tennis elbow is essentially lateral epicondylitis, which is an overuse injury of the tendons. Using a counter-force tennis elbow brace can significantly reduce the strain during daily activities. However, a proper assessment by a physiotherapist or orthopedist is highly recommended for long-term recovery.

I had this from heavy lifting and bad form. Ice it after your daily routine and focus on eccentric wrist exercises once the acute pain goes down. Also, make sure your diet has enough protein and anti-inflammatory healthy fats to speed up tendon repair.

Look, don't try to play through the pain or it will become a chronic issue. Get a proper forearm brace, start icing it daily, and consult a sports physio. It takes time to heal, so be patient and stop overloading that arm.

I had this last year and wearing a tennis elbow strap during work really saved me. Definitely get it checked by a physiotherapist.
