How to ease teething pain?

My 8-month-old is teething and it's breaking my heart to see her so fussy and uncomfortable. She's constantly crying and chewing on everything. What can I do to help ease her teething pain and make her more comfortable?

My son went through terrible teething pain last year and wouldn't sleep at all. What really worked was putting a clean, wet cotton washcloth in the fridge for a bit and letting him chew on it. The coldness numbs their gums instantly and safely.

Whenever my kids have health issues, I make sure to consult their paediatrician first instead of guessing, just like I strictly follow my doctor's advice and blood tests for my thyroid. Never give any random homeopathic teething pills or gels without asking your doctor, as some can have harmful side effects.

You don't need to buy expensive fancy teething toys for the baby. Just clean your fingers thoroughly and gently massage the baby's gums with a light hand. If they are on solids, giving them a piece of cold carrot or cucumber to gnaw on under your close supervision works perfectly.

My mother used to suggest applying a little honey or local herbs, but our doctor strictly advised against honey for babies under one year. We stuck to silicone teethers chilled in the refrigerator, which our doctor said was the safest way. Keep the baby's chin dry to prevent drool rashes too.

When my little nephew was teething, he was crying non-stop and it was super stressful. We just gave him cold silicone teething rings to chew on and it quietened him down pretty fast. Don't freeze the teethers though, just chilling them in the fridge is enough.
