How to ease severe period pain?

Every month, my period pain is just unbearable, like really severe cramps that stop me from doing anything. Painkillers only help a little. What are some ways to ease severe period pain, especially when it feels like this?

Ah, the monthly torture! At my age, I have tried everything from hot water bottles to magic teas, and honestly, sometimes just curling up in bed with a hot bag is the only practical thing you can do. Let the house be a mess for one day, just rest.

I used to suffer from terrible cramps and tried every remedy under the sun. Drinking warm ginger-black pepper tea and keeping a heating pad on my lower abdomen always brought the most comfort. But if the pain is so severe that you can't function, please consult a gynecologist as it could be PCOS or endometriosis.

Doing very gentle yoga poses like Balasana (Child's Pose) or Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) helps relax the pelvic muscles during periods. Couple this with slow, deep abdominal breathing to calm your nervous system. It has worked beautifully for my cramps over the years.

Don't suffer silently, okay? Keep yourself warm, drink plenty of warm water, and use a heating pad on your back and stomach. If the cramps are truly unbearable, there is no harm in talking to a gynecologist about safe pain relief options. Take care of yourself.

Same here, the cramps can be really exhausting sometimes. I find that drinking hot chamomile tea and taking a warm bath helps ease the muscle tension quite a bit.
